The ultimate sunset spot
Suspended on the highest point of the caldera — a sheer drop of over 300 metres — Imerovigli is blessed with the best views on Santorini. Imerovigli derives from the words for ‘day’ and ‘viewpoint’, but this lookout is a knockout at dawn, dusk, or even by moonlight. Don’t expect wild nightlife though: aside from one classic cocktail bar and some excellent, authentic restaurants, our peaceful village is all about slowing down.
Imerovigli is more low-key than Fira, Santorini’s lively capital, and less crowded than Oia, the pin-up village on the island’s northern tip. Right below Remezzo, one of the world’s most scenic footpaths follows the clifftop to Fira (30 minutes) or Oia (2,5 hours). You can also hike (20-30 minutes) to Skaros, an abandoned citadel in the sky, reached by a narrow causeway. Ask us about the secret chapel below Skaros, our favourite hideaway for a romantic sundowner.
An authentic Cycladic village
A dazzling archetype of Cycladic architecture, Imerovigli is a triumph of ingenuity over challenging terrain. Working in harmony with nature, the locals built their homes to withstand the elements and the passage of time. The steep stairs and cobbled paths require some agility and a head for heights. Cars and motorbikes are not allowed inside Imerovigli. The nearest public parking lot is a 3-minute walk from Remezzo.

Parking
The public parking area is only a few steps away from our main entrance. You can park there free of charge. Unfortunately, due to the traditional nature of our village, we do not have our own car park.
